St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
This research hospital is a 501(c)(3) based in Memphis, Tennessee. They work to defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Their model states, “No child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. They have pushed the child cancer survival rate from 20% in 1962 to more than 80% today.
Breast Cancer Research Foundation
This is a nonprofit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. Their goal is to speed up the progress of finding a cure for breast cancer and provide a better quality of life for breast cancer patients. They are the largest private funder of breast cancer research.
The International AIDS Society
Its mission is to lead collective action on every front through its membership base, scientific authority and convening power. They are headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Their USA branch is a registered 501(c)(3). They work to combat the impact of HIV/AIDS across the globe.
Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) based in New York. The foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. It has become the largest non-profit funder of Parkinson’s disease research.
